Tripp Lite U026-016 USB2.0 16-Feet Certified Active Extension Cable
Tripp Lite's 16-ft. USB Certified 2.0 active extension cable is a bus powered extension cable that can be used to increase the length of a device cable without the worry of signal loss and potential performance problems. USB limits a cable's length to 16ft. any length above 16 feet requires the use of an active cable such as this one. This cable has a signal booster built in. The overall cable length can be extended up to 80ft by daisy chaining up to 5 of these active cables. The cable must be plugged directly into a USB port (either on the PC or a hub). Use a standard 6' 10' or 15' USB cable to reach the desired distance.

I needed a way to bring my computers usb 2.0 port closer to a device that cannot be moved and this baby did the job. Well worth it. I bought 2 of these and made a 32 foot connection to my device and it worked GREAT.
You can also put a USB hub at the end of the cable and it works well. It works flawlessly with all devices I have connected to it. Tried it with the PC, the Wii and the PS3.
I had to quickly rig something together and this cable saved me, I will be ordering more of them(mostly so I don't have to string together some many cables next time). You are supposed to plug this strait into the computer but this product worked even in the middle of a 50 foot chain of all kinds of USB cables(none active other than this one).
this is a great product. i am using this to extend the range of my wireless key/mouse set, and it does exactly what i need it to. great product and affordable price. works as it should, problem-free.
I've uploaded some more relevent product pictures for everyone because the first one is way off. It had a nice snug fit when I plugged my controller USB cable into it, so you don't have to worry about the two USB cables coming apart, and my controller immediately started charging. I haven't had much time to mess with it yet but it seems to work great right out of the packaging. I'd highly recommend this product. I was also able to navigate the XMB on my PS3 just fine. I still have to test it with my Logitech racing wheel, which is the main reason I got it. I got it mainly so I could use it with my PS3 and it seems to work great.
