The Uniden DECT2080-3 DECT 6.0 Cordless Digital Answering System includes a base station, two charging cradles, and three handsets. Because the phone uses DECT technology, which uses the 1.9 GHz frequency range, there is no interference with wireless networks, microwave ovens, cordless phones, and other household items. The result is less interference, more range, and better security. The built-in digital answering machine has a recording time of 14 minutes. Each handset can hold up to 100 phonebook entries, displayed on the three-line backlit LCD. Caller ID is supported, and with call waiting caller ID you can see who's calling even when you are already on the line. The DECT2080-3 comes with three handsets and can be expanded to a total of six handsets working with the single base. A conference feature lets you hold a three-way conversation between your handset, an external caller, and another handset user. A speakerphone is built into the handset, rather than the base, so you can bring the speakerphone with you wherever you go. The handset features up to 16 hours of talk time and a 10-day standby. When I 1st got this phone in January 2009, it worked good but the started dropping calls. "out of range", yet I hadn't even moved now. Received a high pitch squeal. After owning it for exactly 6 months the whole system stopped working.
The Uniden DECT 6.0 2080-3 is an excellent product for the price. The compact size, high tech style, digital answering system, easy operation and of course, cordless, makes this product worth buying.
Our home is over 4k sq. Just glad we bought it when it was on sale.

We use 3 handsets (kitchen, masterbed and gameroom) which covers the most occupied areas in the house. Very clear, with no signal distance problem for our use.
It's expandable up to 6 handsets but I think that's just overkill for a home.
The next day I pick up the same handset - it STILL says "full". I dial. The battery indicator will say "full". So, I'll talk from a handset for an hour say, and put it down. This phone has a great sound, great features, and I won't go into the details that some of the other reviewers already outlined. This is NOT just one handset - this is ALL of them, and I have 5 of them. So it really is a defect in the phone, and it drives me crazy - I never know whether or not it is charged.
There is NO WAY it lasts 10 hours of talking like they claim, and worse yet, their battery INDICATOR is FAULTY. There's ONE really annoying thing about it - the battery. I speak for about 30 seconds, and the indicator immediately goes down to empty, and the beeping (battery about to die) begins. Other than that, reception is great, sound quality is great, and it is very easy to handle.
I read the other reviews and had mixed feelings about it. The handset screens are easy to read. Overall, it's just short of okay, just be aware that it is very small and it does not hold much in the way of phone numbers. Not for me. It takes no time for the charge to die on these handsets, and I never use the phone for more than 20 minutes at one time.
Not sure what it was but something told me not to get this phone. I am a little disappointed with this phone. I like the three handsets. I like the small (home) base.
The phonebook is confusing (to me) to set up and it does not hold as many numbers as the old Uniden I gave up. I would like to rate it 2 1/2 of 5 stars and I would NOT buy it again. The phone features a handset speaker phone that sounds good and is easy to work. I read somebody's review who said the battery power was long lasting.
And what really makes me ANGRY is the battery power. The handset itself is just about too small to hold to your ear to talk comfortably and it does not stand up very well on the tabletop w/o the charging base.
The square caller id 4-position button just below the display quit working in all but one direction. We're a military family and trying to stretch every dollar. I purchased this three phone set in July 2008. Quality control seems to be the weak point with this model, so be sure to save your receipt. Now, here I am in April, and the second of the three phone set failed in the same way. In February of this year, 2009, one of the phones failed. So, at that point, I had one phone with the volume turned all the way down. I contacted, but wihtout the receipt, they wouldn't do anything.
