Second unit had already charged fully. It is stylish, which was a factor for me with my new VOIP system that has to plug into my computer. Since my Media Center PC by my LCD TV is the one on all the time, that was where i needed it to be. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because something at this price point and level of electronics complexity certainly could have a few more options for polyphonic ringtones than it came with. This is my third DECT 6.0 attempt. I was using it within minutes. So wanted something with a good look to it.
Clear sound, responsive buttons, easy voicemail unit to set up and use. Checked the battery, had not got the plug snapped all the way down when I first put it together, so got it all the way in, and charged just fine. Other than that lack, it is everything I've been looking for and works great. Make sure you double check that the battery plug is fully inserted - my main unit would NOT charge past the 1/3 mark but worked fine other than that - showed charging when in the cradle. Been going through phones left and right trying to find something useful. Phone works well, menus aren't convoluted, very straight forward setup.
The reception is not that good either. Boy, what a mistake. It does have some very generic tones, but they all sound the same. I thought I'd replace my older Uniden TRU8860 with the DECT3080-2. The 3080 is quite smaller and lighter, but does not have some of the most used features like speed dial and some of the ring tones to identify who is calling. I'm going to do a lot more research to see if I can find another DECT 6.0 phone that works a LOT better. It has cool led lights and backgrounds and you can customize those for who is calling but I dont want to have to get up to find the phone and look at the display to see who is calling. Dont waste your money on this one.
I tried it for about 3 weeks and then sent it back. It's not worth the $80-$120 that your going to spend. I had many problems with this phone when answering the other person couldnt hear me.
* Handset speakerphone works great. * Long battery life. * Small footprint remote handset charger fits easily on bedside table. * Address book transfers automatically easily handsets. This one is no exception. I've had two previous Uniden wireless phones, and found them better than Sony or Panasonic. The only downside I could think of is that my iPhone headset doesn't fit the jack, but this doesn't warrant deducting a star.
Highlights:. Five stars. * No interference with our WiFi network. * Light, slim handset. * Fantastic range, works through all the walls in our house. I chose it for its slim, light profile and top of the line features, and I'm not disappointed. * Easy voicemail recovery from the handset.
For whatever reason, the DECT-6 3080 was dropping our phone calls all the time. However, all my problems went away when I moved my wireless router about 6' away from the phone's main base. No more dropped calls. That wasn't the case. I put this new system in the same spot as my old 900MHz, the old phone worked great in that spot so I thought this one would work, too. All I had to do was move the wireless router and now we absolutely love these phones. I gave this phone a bad review when I first began to use it because we were experiencing 'out of range,' dropped calls and lost signal errors daily.
- Multibase. I got my return authorization from Amazon and packaged it up before I noticed that I'd forgotten to put the DSL filter on the line. I also bought this phone for the multibase capability, but it's been completely unnecessary. I haven't seen another phone with that feature. - Can name phones and change display background (more choices would be nice). have a specific ring for my daughter) - Can send phonebook between phones.
Cons:. - It actually looks pretty good for a phone. Pros:. I had static when I first used this phone. Since then the phone has been perfect from a reception standpoint.
Features I'd still like to see:. I really appreciate the ability to name each phone.
- Very clear call quality. - Can use names in intercom.
- The ability to intercom a specific person (i.e. - None compared to other systems I've used.
I can then then page it by name rather than by number. The base is at the back of the first floor and reception is perfect at the front of the third floor.
- A shared phonebook.
