The Uniden TCX800 is a supplemental handset for use with Uniden's TRU8800-series expandable phone systems (TRU8888, TRU8885, TRU8880, TRU8865, TRU8860, and the -2 version of these; excluding model TRU8866). It supports the same handset features found on your existing 8800 series system and operates on the same 5.8 GHz digital signal for clear calls and increased security. The TCX800 does not require a phone jack for operation. It automatically configures itself to "talk" directly with your phone system's base unit. Each system offers a different specification on expandability and features, so be sure to check your system to see how many handsets you should order.  Handset features include caller ID/call waiting, speakerphone, conferencing, call transfer between handsets, four-line backlit LCD, tri-lingual display options, illuminated keypad, walkie-talkie capability, room monitoring, and distinctive ring tones. Fast shipping and works great. I bought two additional for my Uniden TRU8860-2 which included two Uniden TCX800 handsets.
Very Happy except having to program all 5 phones individually,with numbers. I purchased the TCX880 for this to work with.
Uniden has in my opinion the best phones only cause the only time I have ever had to replace mine is when someone in my house got mad and broke my phones. Great phone for the money.Just don't get angry. They have never worn out or given us any problems at all.
The voice is clear and it holds a charge for quite a while. You can't beat it for expansion (up to 10 handsets) and price (under $30). This is a solid phone with back-lit buttons, 5.8 signal and a functional speaker and intercom. How can you go wrong.
The phone arrived on time and in good condition, but it did not include the belt clip that suppose to come with the new phone handsets.
