An accessory handset for Uniden's TRU9 series, TRU8 series, CLX series, Elite series, and the UIP18 series phone systems, the TCX905 offers the same excellent range of functions you appreciate in the base. Once the handset is recognized by the system, you can review features like Call Waiting Caller ID, which includes a 100-station memory (with subscription to local service) that allows names and numbers to be transferred between handsets or moved into the permanent 10-station speed dial. DirectLink two-way radio communication is built into each handset, allowing them to function as an in-home intercom system or baby monitor. You can transfer incoming calls between each handset and speakerphone on the base, and make use of the convenient hands-free design by using the included belt clip and built-in headset jack (headsets available separately). Easily adjust handset and ringer volume levels to your comfort, and set the handset LCD menu to one of three menu languages (English, French, or Spanish). A page button lets you quickly locate the handset if it's strayed under the couch cushions. Redial any of the last three called numbers at the touch of a button, activate three-way calls or just enjoy the consistent clarity of the 5.8 GHz digital signal transmission. This handset requires the use of a compatible Uniden T9, ELT or VIP series phone. Most systems in the series are expandable up to a total of four handsets. Uniden provides a one-year warranty covering parts and service. It still works OK as a simple phone. And the replacement then had the same failure. I have three of these handsets. Uniden replaced the one unit that failed under warranty. All had the same failure - the function key in the center went bad. I can't access the phone book, check caller ID history or change any options.
I have young grandsons, who have taken the handsets and immersed one in water and threw the other away. I like the Uniden system.I have used this phone as a baby monitor and a home intercom. The phone system is great and very user friendly. It has great memory, too. Buying the extra handsets are well worth the fair price. I am glad that I can buy up to 11 of these for my current phone system. This is a repeated purchase for me.
I bought this as an addition to an existing handset and an answering machine. If the battery could last more than 3-4 days between charges, I will give it 5 stars. Very good phone, set up /register itself flawlessly.
Uniden has done a great job making it easy to add this phone to an existing system. I followed the clear, direct instructions and it synched up in seconds, and the phone has worked perfectly since then.
This handset is an improvement to the old one it replaces. It interfaces well with my old base unit although it does not physically fit the base or my old chargers. I smiply use it with the charger that it came with.
