UNIDEN 5.8GHZ DSS CID/TA & KD W/3 HEADSETS - Cordless Telephone With Digital Answering System And Speakerphone

With a complete set of high performance features and expandable functionality, the Uniden TRU9485 offers a full set of convenient options for busy homes. This set includes three handsets; the system is expandable to a total of ten but only requires a single phone jack. Call Waiting Caller ID includes a 100-station memory (with subscription to local service) that allows names and numbers to be transferred between handsets or moved into the permanent speed dial. DirectLink two-way radio communication is built into each handset, allowing them to function as an in-home intercom system or baby monitor. Redial any of the last three dialed numbers at the touch of a button, activate three-way calls or just enjoy the consistent, clear 5.8 GHz digital signal transmission. You can transfer incoming calls between the handset and base, and make use of the convenient hands-free design by using the included belt clip and built-in headset jack (headsets available separately). Easily adjust handset and ringer volume levels to your comfort, and set the handset LCD menu to one of three menu languages (English, French, or Spanish). A page button lets you quickly locate a handset if it's strayed under the couch cushions. A digital answering system with 15 minutes of message time is built into the base; call screening and recording are available from the handset as well. The base is wall mountable or sits sturdily on a countertop, giving you plenty of display options, and a total of 20 different ring tones (10 tones, 10 melodies) give you a variety of choices. Uniden provides a one-year warranty covering parts and service.

Uniden TRU9485-3 5.8 GHz Digital Cordless Answering System with Dual Keypad and 2 Extra Handsets Reviews

Additionaly the phone has good weight, great reception and the built in answering machine eliminated two cords from my wall, it is also easy to use, don't scrimp get the three handsets. you wont be disappointed, worth every penny, intuitive menu system.the monitor and intercom functions rock.with a new baby in the house I can ask for a hand from the other end of the house, no shouting, no squirming out from under a sleeping baby to go get something, great speaker phone quality on the handsets and the base means you can change a diaper or do situps while you talk.

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. . So I called Amazon back as the Amazon agent had instructed me to do. The Uniden agent gave me instructions for obtaining a replacement. That was over two months ago and I have heard nothing from Uniden. Since this failure occurred outside the Amazon 30 day period the Amazon rep gave me the Uniden phone number and told me to call Uniden which I did.

The Amazon agent told me there was nothing they could do and told me I had to deal with Uniden. . I purchased this phone system from Amazon and it worked as advertised for about two weeks. The base unit was plugged into a surge protector. I followed Uniden's instructions to the letter and faxed them all information they requested. About six weeks later the phone again spontaneously failed. The phone system spontaneously stopped working.

Amazon and Uniden both get zero or fewer stars. Since the failure occurred within Amazon's 30 day replacement period, they sent a new phone system and we returned the defective system to Amazon. Then we had a power 'blip' where we lost power for less than one second; we didn't even have to reset the microwave clock. I gave this one star since it was impossible to give it zero stars.

THE UNIDEN TRU9485-3 5.8 GHz CORDLESS ANSWERING SYSTEM WITH DUAL KEYPADS AND 2 EXTRA HANDSETS IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER GOTTEN. IT WORKS GREAT AND NOW I DON'T HAVE TO YELL TO MY HUSBAND WHEN HE YELLS TO ME.

Maybe it's the building material in older homes or distortion from other electronics such as a computer, all I know is that when I go into rooms more than 30 ft. Oh well, life goes on but I won't be buying another Uniden, sorry guys but not after what I paid. I also wish the intercom feature was a true intercom. from the base I get horrible disruptions. I guess I should have gone with V-Tech.

But then again others don't seem to have this problem so who knows. I have the base unit in my family room and a handset in my office and it's bad enough where I have to leave my office and go somewhere more open to be able to understand who I'm talking to. What I mean is the person on the other side has to physically answer the intercom page, you can't just speak openly in the air to each other, what a pain, especially if your hands are full. My house is only 2,500 square feet.

I replaced my old 900 MHz phone with this system thinking I was getting a premium upgrade from a phone I purchased almost a decade ago for college and from what it looks like I'm not alone in this complaint.

- "Room Monitor" is a great idea but (while i don't have a baby) i don't think it would be that useful as a baby monitor. - "direct link mode" function btwn handsets is bizarre & most of the time the "out of range" error appears. - Can label each phone in display (to know which of the three you are talking on helps keep track).

- No blue tooth or wifi capability. A good, functional product. - Good speakerphone quality from handsets & base station (and no complaints yet from people we have been talking w/). - Weighty enough to give a quality feel but not too heavy. - Intuitive. - Can get voicemail from any handset or base station.

PROS:. - "Phone book" is archaic and unwieldy. Why can I synch up my tiny cell phone with my computer, Outlook, or Gmail address books but not my house phone.

Didn't like odd shape at first but makes it easier to cradle handset when talking. No predictive text / entering in phone numbers manually is monotonous and difficult (though admittedly easier than previous cordlesses i have owned). - Comes w/three handsets.

- Different rings for each handset and different callers. CONS:. - Nice belt-clip which does not fall off.
