The Uniden DWX2077 Handset meets JIS7 waterproof specifications, which means it can be submersed in up to one meter (3.28 feet) of water for 30 minutes without damage. It even floats! The DWX2077 also utilizes DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) 6.0 technology for interference free reception. Expandable up to six handsets, the DWX2077 offers caller ID capabilities and loads of other advanced features that make it easy to keep in touch whether you're inside your house or out floating in the pool. Headset-compatible for hands-free calling, the DWX2077 delivers user-friendly operation that makes it a pleasure to make and receive calls. The backlit display and lighted keypad let you quickly dial numbers and access options, even in low-light conditions. But it is a pleasure to use, and it will probably last until landlines go the way of the telegraph. Not this one. The sound quality is crystal clear, and the maximum volume setting is extraordinarily loud. It feels solid and indestructible. Many cordless phones on the market today feel like slippery little bars of soap. It's even covered in black rubber to make it easier to hold. It doesn't have a lot of gimmicky features: there are only a few simple ringtones, for example.
