The cradle also has a nice blue LED light (that can even be used as a nightlight) that is illuminated whenever the unit is powered (no matter which method is being used above). The Palm TX fits very snugly within the cradle which is also heavy enough not to fall over like some other cradles available in the marketplace. 1) A USB connection from the unit directly to your computer. This cradle has never given me any trouble at all for many charging sessions and has performed flawlessly. 2) An AC/DC power connection directly to a wall outlet. I highly recommend it. I think it works as good as the palm cradle but at a better price. I bought this as a second cradle to keep at work and I am very pleased with it.
The package and cradle were only labeled as "For Tungsten 5" but does work with T|X. Due to the curved bottom of the T|X it can "rock" in the cradle slightly and not quite make proper contact. In the beginning I was getting failed HotSyncs before realizing what the problem was, now just have to be more careful when docking it. The LED is bright but not a big deal. I actually prefer using the button on the back as opposed to the Palm screen.
Using to charge the PalmP and to sync data with two different computers. Reasonable price - works well. I'm using two of them without problems.
The synch button is tiny and located on the back but no problem as one simply taps synch on the Palm unit. This device is slick and I highly recommend as it's more convenient to use rather than untangling the separate power and synch cables.
