Amazon and newegg sells microphones from $3 to $big amount. Cannot stand on top of laptop properly. Great images, but you need to buy a separate microphone.
My ID software found it immediately. I needed this to create still photos with a proprietary ID-making software. The drivers were easy to install. The picture quality is good, but I'm only using small photos that would fit on an ID. After installation, I plugged in the camera, and it registered itself on my computer. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I'm not actually using it over the web, so I don't know how well it performs as a webcam.
This webcam is just a joke. Now, we all know that during the chat, we all want to talk to the other persons. Luckily, I didn't pay for it. You should buy from Logitech, Microsoft insteads. Why.
So, my recommendation to you is NOT to buy this camera. It says it is compatible with Yahoo., MSN, Skype, AOL instant messengers for video chat. This "webcam" does not have a microphone and if you want it, you better go get a separate microphone (what a convenience, right).
