We were disappointed to see that many titles on the back cover were not included inside the book. Mostly Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones. Not sure why, but felt that other songs should have been offered in their place, since they did call the book 100 Greatest Songs of Rock
A more experienced guitarist should look elsewhere. The interpretations in this songbook do not seem to be as true as those in other Hal Leonard Easy Guitar tab books. Regardless, the selection is great and pretty fun to play for someone just beyond the basics in learning guitar. Perhaps they rushed this one out because of the VH-1 tie-in.
You probably could figure out all the music contained here on your own, but this resource makes it easy to convey the music to musicians on different skill levels.
Because it would be a lot better with them. The other songs (most of them are Rolling Stones ones) it says are ommitted because of licensing stuff. Rock and Roll. Oh and by the way the songs that are NOT in it that are on the list are:. The problems I have with this book is:. Whole lot of Love. My guess is that VH1 had a list of the best songs and then they wanted a guitar book about it. (I can't get no) Satisfaction.
And guess what, They couldnt get 10 of those songs. I mean some are good but I guess I want songs that are not too hard but not too easy. So why bother. And its not my guitar at all or my playing.
And it says at the bottom in really small print: "Omitted from this publication because of licensing restrictions." And gives an asterisk (*) next to all the songs that are not in it. Kashmir. Jumpin' Jack Flash. 2. Brown Sugar. Its really just for piano and it sounds preatty bad on guitar. Sympathy for the Devil.
Like, for example, The song Great Balls of Fire. Won't get fooled again. Stairway to heaven. Peace Out Whole Lotta shakin goin' on. If there was 3 12 stars thats what I would rate it.

My friend has played some of the songs and they are easy for him and he also let me know that they leave out all the barre chords and opt for open position chords. Good book if you can play through some songs already and you want a copy. I just started one month ago and I can't really play anything out of it yet. It has many good songs in it but they are still complex for the beginner and too easy for the more advanced.
