This monitor really exceeded my expectations. I do a lot of work with pictures and graphics, so I wasn't sure I wanted to change my CRT monitor to an LCD monitor. This was a great move. I just plugged it in and Vista did the rest. Pictures are sharp and color rendition is very good.
The Viewsonic was delivered quickly and in excellent condition. The monitor was connected and working within minutes of opening the box. The image quality and price are great. No noticeable difference between this LCD and my Samsung 226BW that went out after nine months.
. I called ViewSonic's customer service and tried to reason with them, absolutely terrible customer service. Apparently, hanging out on customers is the best way to avoid any "problems" for the customer repensitives. Just got the ViewSonic monitor for 1 year, and it breaks. ViewSonic CANNOT PRODUCE MONITOR LAST LONGER THAN ONE YEAR.
The representatives were very rude, they even hang out on me. I have such a bad experiences with ViewSonic, I will never purchase any products from them ever again. I think everyone deserves to know about what the company's services are like before their purchase. Please be aware when you buy any of ViewSonic's products.
Price is excellent. Very happy with it. The monitor was easy to set-up and connect to my computer. Visual quality of screen is excellent. Directions are clear and easy to understand.
Bought this monitor after doing a lot of research on which monitor to get. The menu will show that it is off but it is actually on since turning it on and off in the menu will then make it actually off. Monitor Color Adjust = 6500K. My first choice was a Samsung 226BW but after reading about quality control issues with the lcd panel on those I decided to go with the Viewsonic since it had the best color reproduction and fast response time. Monitor brigthness = 15.
I was going to send the 22 inch back but I'm out of the US and it would cost too much to send back. Monitor Dynamic Contrast = Off. Video Card(Nvidia 8800GT) Gamma = 0% to 10%. Video Card(Nvidia 8800GT) Brightness and Contrast = 50% Settings that give me the best picture quality are:. Monitor Contrast = 65. The problem is that dynamic contrast will turn itself back on whenever the monitor goes to standby mode, turned off or changes resolution.
It's very easy to see when its on by looking at skin tones.they look horrible with dynamic contrast turned on. I bought the 19 inch version to this monitor at the same time and that one does not have this problem. This monitor is great as long as you keep the dynamic contrast feature off and configure your video card's gamma setting properly(my 8800GT had to be set to 10% gamma). I've learned to live with the problem and every time I sit at the computer I make sure to turn the dynamic contrast on and back off.
