ViewSonic VX2835wm 28-inch (27.5-inch Viewable) Wide LCD Monitor Reviews

It didn't; from both laptops the HDMI at monitor. The VGA input is very poor: computer images are ghosted and faded. It works better as a monitor for your dvd player or 2nd generation console (using its component video inputs) rather than a serious computer monitor. I have a couple of laptops with HDMI output and had hoped that the picture from a digital output would look much crisper. Very disappointed as I had used very good quality 22" Viewsonic monitors (VG2230WM). s native resolution, the pictures look even worse than on VGA input and there is no way to adjust that (the adjustment menus are disabled when on HDMI input). It also doesn't automatically detect the active input (you have to manually select it). First of all it should be noted that it is a monitor, not a computer monitor.

I checked the RMA status online a couple days later and there was no record of receipt showing. and they commence from the date the item is checked in. meaning I will have to wait until at least September 23, 2008 before I can expect any update. (Mine took 120 or 5 days) Today, September 10, 2008 I called to check status, as surely one would think it would be repaired by now.

I purchased a Viewsonic Factory Refurbished VX2835WM 28" LCD Widescreeen monitor that was delivered to me on August 20th. It would not power on, nor display any sign of life. I called viewsonic and was told it sometimes takes up to 72 hours for an item to be checked in. the monitor was dead. If at that time the monitor could not be repaired, I will be offered a comparable model replacement if identical model is not available. Suprisingly, they issued an RMA but I had to ship it back to their factory in Walnut CA at my expense ($50.

I called back and spoke to someone else who told me the refurb unit carried a 30 day warranty. Nothing. As this was a refurbished unit the vendor was unable to replace it as they were out of stock, but I was told to contact Viewsonic. 48 Hours later (yes, a mere two days folks). If this is any indication of the level of support you receive when you purchase a Viewsonic product, you should keep my experience in mind. First of all, I did not purchase this item from Amazon.

I was then (politely) informed that the 14 days are 14 BUSINESS DAYS. I snidely asked him 30 days from the time it left their factory or 30 days from date of purchase. My first call to them resulted in an clueless rep telling me there was nothing they could do. I shipped it on Aug 22, 2008 and it arrived on their dock on Aug 27, 2008. I was told it would be approx 14 days before I got it back. Power cords and outlets checked out okay.

rather this review is for Viewsonic support.

Our IT guy is a video game enthusiast, he LOVED it too. That is, they didn't use UPS, they used a trucking company that called to confirm when they could deliver. The color is great and you can have ALL your applications open at once, cause you have plenty of space on this screen. The only negative thing I can say about this product is that now everyone in the office wants one. I can't wait until the budget allows one for ME too. We use for CAD work so need really good resolution which this has. It was a good value from Amazon and they did a white glove delivery.

Bigger is better, and I'm not complaining. Everyone who has seen this monitor in my home has commented favorably on it, and I have to say that I'm quite satisfied. I'm not a professional picture editor, and you probably aren't either. Chances are, if you are looking for a terrific monitor at a price that won't bankrupt you, this may be it. I haven't seen any of the problems that some of the reviewers have claimed.

This was with the Nvidia 9800 GX2. Not having that line in the middle is great. Most web pages are not designed to expand to HD size and some programs work better in smaller windows. The frame would look better a a flat black rather than a shiny reflective gloss black. It was a little weird getting used to one monitor again but EVERYTHING is so much better. I might have to cut the desk legs down or break the base off.

So plan to use the dvi/vga input cable instead. With 3D modeling, animation, video editing and graphics you give up a tiny bit of detail moving from a CRT but what you get in return is so worth it. I am glad the speakers are build in but would rather have a smaller frame. Maybe HDMI input works with other video cards.

I am not sure why this happens. I almost purchased two 20s for 250 each but took a gamble on this one. It Plays HD full screen and everything fits. I will never go back to dual monitors again. Not a lot of adjustment is necessary as it works just fine.

This ability is invaluable. What a pleasure. I was scared to do it. Many years ago I paid $800 each for two 17 inch flat screen CRTs and many years after that, 600 each for two 19 inch CRTs before I purchased this one 28 inch wonder.

I had some trouble with HDMI out from the video card to HDMI in on the monitor. I would like to be able to remove the base of the monitor as my desk is the perfect height for viewing and resting my elbows. With a blank screen and a solid color you can see a c shaped gradient on all sides from a distance; however, when up close as in normal use with a program open everything appears as a solid color. It pushes the image off screen 2 inches on all sides. Being able to see more of your 3D model and get closer to it helps a lot. I actually keep some windows like email, web and word.doc about 1/2 size and centered.

It makes the creation process go so much faster. After using dual monitors for the last ten years it is such a relief to be able to use just one again. This monitor is like having four full screen views of a quad and when switching to single screen you see everything and more. The menu is a bit limited and I have not grasped why some features are grayed out when you try to use them.

Not sure which way to go with that yet. I can finally fit everything in one monitor, see it and use it. I am looking forward to the 2K version . You can see so much more of what you are doing.

You wouldn't think 3-7 inches would make a difference but it does.
