West Bend 77203 Electric Can Opener, Metallic Reviews
We've only used it a few times, but it seems to work well and does look nice. Only hitch so far is it took a few tries to get a larger can to hook in to open, but once it did action was smooth and thorough.
I was impressed by the ease and speed of the processeven for a klutz like me. It's a great can-opener. This, then is a 3-feature product, but only one of the features (happily, it's the most important oneopening cans) is useful. If soft-drink makers ever return to bottling their products, this might come in handy; however, until then. Finally, there is a "bottle opener" on the back as well. The cut edges of the can were not overly sharp (nor was the lid sharp).
It is still a lovely object in the kitchen and I'm still giving it 4 stars because its performs its primary function so well. I forsee little or no use for the bottle opener in my house. Having accomplished my first and primary purpose, I then read the user manual because I wasn't quite as sure of myself with the knife sharpener because I couldn't figure out how to turn it on.
I also like the fact that the cutting mechanism can be removed and cleaned. and the knife slides between these two sharpening agents, and little is accomplished. In brief, my knives were not appreciably sharper (one even seemed a bit duller).
That's because you don't turn it on: the knife sharpener isn't electric at all; it consists of a slot in the back with what seems to be 2 emory-boards (). This West Bend Electric Can Opener can-opener is absolutely gorgeous (I got it in metallic). Without even a glance at the directions, I managed to open a rather large, unweildy can with no problems at all.
It's elegant and stylish and easy to use.
We purchased this particular can opener because: It has a replacable blade and it is RED. The old can opener worked except the blade needed to be replaced, the company did not sell replacements, West Bend does.
I researched this can opener extensively and am completely satisfied. It has handled the heaviest and largest cans I've opened with ease.My wife doesn't like that it chews the paper label sometimes, but that just shows how well it grips the can.It is a tall can opener and is stable opening heavy cans.My wife loves how stylish it is.I love how well it works.Recommend purchasing it, U-Betcha.
. Being very small and plastic we could not glue it or fix it. I saw something fly out when I tried to use it, and found it was a small pin that is needed to activate the motor.
But it recently broke. I got this can opener about a year ago, and just loved it while it worked.
I loved the idea I could color coordinate it with my kitchen, and it had a nice design.
