This drive was purchased as a replacement for a factory-installed Samsung hard drive in a Dell PC. I bought WD because I have had good luck with them in the past. This WD was very easy to install and has been performing just fine for five months.
from ordering thru delivery everything well, a nice way to do buisness. the harddrive was easy to install; and for the price. a good deal.
I've had good luck with other WD drives and expect the same quality here. What can I say, no complaints, works great, it's quiet and reliable.
I ordered these to replace 2 HDs that were too small, and one drive that was showing signs of failure. I have no reason to complain. So far all three of these drives are working fine.
You can get the RMA number only with a proper WD serial number. After numerous emails, I finally got a response saying that, the drive i sent them was not a WD drive.(this bait and switch is quit common for warranties) Apparently WD is using this tactic and others to deny any customer any kind of warranty claims. Need I say anymore.actually I do. Please dont waste money (more importantly, possibly your life's worth of digital files) on this piece of joke. I also took a copy of the face of drive (to guard against such a switch-aroo) before sending in. I see a class action suite coming. Make that -5 *****.
The poorest quality drives, the most unprofessional customer no service. I have copies of all the emails and online RMA submissions. The drive failed on Day 1 from the store and was returned to WD after obtaining a RMA number. If you have any such problems, please do take a copy or high resolution digital picture of the drive/box before sending it in. Down right, unethical company.
