I'm currently moving stuff from my 40GB to it, so I can boot, and overall run faster. http://support.wdc.com/download/dlg/dlgsetup11_win.zip. This drive was very easy to put in the computer.
5 stars, other than the documentation. Once we did that, I had to install it with this program:. My HP found it immediately, and it sort of installed by itself.
Once I did that very easily and quickly, my new, big (for an older type of drive), and speedy drive was ready to go. That, and other stuff for the drive, can be found online. It wasn't showing up but I didn't switch the jumper for it to be a slave drive :P.
Wish I had read these reviews before but here we go. If you are dealing with a crashed computer, I would not recommend this product or this company. When I called Western Digital the person I spoke to was not helpful and could care less. The drive does not include any setup materials, instructions or software. That means if your computer is not functioning you will need to find another computer to download their software.
I have had good success with the several Western Digital hard drives purchased and installed in my computers. I recently purchased a Seagate drive, and while it may be dependable, I found that it scores lower than my Western Digital drives for access speed.
Waiting on refund , I'll never buy from amazon again. Never received item.
