Wii HD Link Component Cable Reviews
There was a good improvement in the graphics of the games. It took only a couple minutes to disconnect the cable that came with the Wii and connect this one. I'd highly recommend these cables to anyone who wants a clearer, crisper picture on their Wii games. The first game I tried it on was Endless Ocean and it was noticeably clearer. So I decided to try these cables.
We have a large screen LCD display and I thought the games already looked pretty good, and after all the Wii can only put out up to 480p anyway. I then went into the Wii options setting menu and changed the screen and TV resolution. Someone on one of the Wii forums I frequent suggested getting component cables if you had an HDTV. What I didn't realize is that unless you use component cables you're getting 480i or 240 lines as opposed to 480p or 480 lines. The Shaun White Snowboarding game looked great too.
I plugged them in and they worked. I didn't really test out the difference between the standard Wii connection and these cables. match the color coded cables up to your tv jacks and you should be good. No instructions included.
It's tough to tell unless you do a side by side test, which is not possible, considering I don't have two Wiis or two HD TVs. Looks okay, supposedly allows the full resolution of the Wii = 480p - to show on your HD screen. But the picture is good.
I only have the sports package which are older games. I can't see any difference in the screen image using the HD Cables vs. the standard definition cables.
Every bit as good as the "official" Wii HD cables, but about half the price. They even look almost identical, and function just fine. Save yourself the money and buy these instead.
