Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel Reviews

I simply turn the feedback and tension to maximum and turn the effects off completely (under Options -> Game). DiRT: This game is massive fun with a wheel, especially on long point-to-point races with lots of shifting at corners. Forza 2: No other racing game compares to how well the wheel works in this game. Definitely use the manual transmission. Compared to Forza 2, a large disappointment. The feedback really is *feedback* and is part of the simulation- asymmetrical tension while cornering and varying acceleration. PGR4: Not my favorite wheel experience.

You can actually feel the wheels catch when you downshift. The built-in driver doesn't work all that well. Burnout Paradise: This wheel is the difference between being an out-of-control trainwreck and a pinpoint accurate cruise missile. At least half as much fun as tearing around a real track (no adrenaline to mention). However, there are too many bumps in the road to use the effects. Using the E-Brake is a bit awkward, and certainly doesn't feel intuitive. It's even part of the damage model.

Using the E-Brake isn't very intuitive here either. It may be more difficult, but after a while, you start using it to your advantage in cornering. Burnout is a super-fast, kinetically violent experience and is vastly improved by using a wheel. If you've adjusted the settings and you still get effects, just unplug the power at the back of the wheel and plug it back in. It feels like the wheel is trying to tear itself apart. Better than not having a wheel, though some people might actually prefer to use the controller. It takes some getting use to, but the force feedback puts the feeling of powering and drifting around corners right in your hands. Just a controller, not a real feedback experience.

Also, force feedback doesn't work at all unless it's plugged inwhich I can understand for reserving battery life, however it somewhat defeats the point of a "wireless" peripheral. It takes a lot of room to store this (obviously, as true for any large gaming peripheral such as Wii Fit or Guitar controllers). At the same time, instead of improving your game immersion and experience, it plays the role of a major set back in games. For this reason, it feels very gamey. In games where I previously played on expert level for most courses, I am now stuck on beginner setting and am struggling. Force feedback does not work on the PC, even with games where a regular Xbox 360 controller has force feedback. This peripheral fails on both levelsas a simulation device and as a gaming device.

It was just as terrible (and used a majority of the same parts). Not only does the wheel only rotate 270 degrees (versus a car steering wheel which can rotate a minimum of 720 degrees), it also is set to an unadjustable height. I wish I had bought fable 2 for my 360 instead of this thing. I purchased microsofts original sidewinder usb force feedback steering wheel for my windows 98 machine a decade ago. Don't waste your money. The only reason I bought this was because it was on clearance at Target for $70 and I have been playing a lot of racing games lately.

when you want to use the right thumbstick to look around when driving. Logitech's device tends to work on both PCs as well as Playstations. This makes certain selections in a game impossible. However when you compare it with the ones Logitech makes for PS2/PS3 there is no comparison. E.g.

The Logitech wheels today provide much larger turn angle (900), more forceful haptics, and provides ALL the controls that are part of a standard PS2/PS3 controller. The Xbox's wheel on the otherhand only works for the Xbox and does not provide all the controls on a standard controller. Sadly you really don't have much of a selection as far as wheels for the Xbox360 goes. Xbox's wheel is better than its competition. All my gripes aside, this wheel does indeed enrich a game of Forza 2.

The reason why I give this product a 1 star is I was given the wrong product I bought this and someone sent me a cheap piece of crap racing wheel, the one I bought isn't wireless it has stupid stickers on it. The one I bought is this Xbox 360 Wireless racing wheel, some how they sent me a Xbox 360 MC2 Racing Wheel by Mad Catz. I purchased this to have a different experience in driving games, the reason I bought this was they went down in price and Xbox 360 makes great products. I demand an explanation please amazon my review is not against this product but the product that I received. I hate it It wasn't even made in thought of the 360 I feel that I was ripped off and cheated out of my $[.].

Very happy with this product. Def makes racing games with the 360 alot more fun.
