Xbox AV HDTV Component Cable Reviews
Its not much u can say in a review about this. It helps connect the older system to newer TV's and receivers. Component cables for the orig Xbox system. If u got a TV that can do different picture n sound configurations for the different connections, this will be fine.
Just remember to set it to "game mode" if you go the PL II route, or it won't work right with video games. Though I'm recommending you get both, since both are really cheap. That crates interference from the cable itself. Bottom Line: If you get the component Xbox cables, you'll get awesome video with pretty good sound.
To avoid noise, avoid lots of other cables when routing video/audio cables (composite, s-video, component, and mabey HDMI if theres lot of cables), and don't coil the cables too. I saw a review that said there was lots of noise with these cables. Last Christmas I got these for my Xbox since I got an HDTV, and these cables are amazing. Get the Microsoft Xbox AV Pack Advanced (which I also own), and deal with s-video if you're whining so much.
If you get the Advanced AV pack, and you'll get pretty good video with awesome sound. The colors look SOOOOO much more rich then composite (which I upgraded from since my old TV only had RF and composite in), and everything is a lot sharper then before too. Besides, all decent receivers made today support Dolby Pro Logic II, so you get a kind of "fake" 5.1 surround sound from stereo (basically it tries to guess which sound goes out what speaker, and it does a pretty good job). Also to those who don't like it not having optical out: suck it up, and deal.
That's not what I saw when I played my Xbox with these. That way you can customize what experience you want like I do. While S-Video only does 480i, it still kicks the crap out of composite.
This cable was a tremendous upgrade over the standard cable I had before, and was worth every penny of the purchase price. I couldn't be more pleased.
I needed this cable so that I could use a split screen function with my tv. The cable came quickly and works perfectly. Thanks for helping my dorkdom. Now I can watch sports and play video games simultaneously.
Wouldn't go back to normal cables if I had to. Makes the xbox HDTV worthy. XBMC looks much better and can now display close to HD quality material. Worth every penny.
