Zune Dock Pack v2 Reviews
I happen to own two very different Zunes and thought this would work for both of them. Other than that small complaint, it works great, and watching videos from your Zune on your TV is great. It does, but now I have to keep all these extra docking pieces around to switch on the fly depending on which zune I need to dock. It seems like they could have developed a system where I wouldn't need to switch pieces depending on my Zune. While this covers all your needs, and works great, I do have one complaint that most people would probably never think about.
In other words, if the wireless was turned off before docking, it should be turned on upon docking and returned to whatever undocked state it was in. But it appears I have to take a number of steps before I plug it into the dock. Let me explain. I bought the dock to free up a USB port and use the Zune's wireless synching ability. Come on, MSFT.
Okay that's a nice feature but the dock and Zune should have some intelligence. And then finally I can plug it into the dock. I have to turn on the wireless. "Okay if the Zune is plugged in and there's no usb connection then I should turn on the wireless and auto sync with the computer." Better if you undock, the Zune should turn off the wireless. This docking station is little more than a glorified USB cable without the "intelligence".
We have computers to automate stuff like this. I have to start the synch. I have to log into my network.
I recomend it to anyone. This is great, since you not only have the desktop charge but you can actually use the plug along with you USB cable from Zune to PC and have travelling charger.
The new Zune charging cradle is exactly what I was looking for. Very nice cradle. I like the new cradle and it does exactly what it says it does. They have the older versions of the Zune 80 Gig cradles, which was confusing to me that they would change the cradle, but new Zune would not fit into the old version.
Great accessories for the Zune. The portable AC charger is a must have when traveling without a computer.
